In December 2024, Tower Bridge’s high-level Walkways were transformed into a vibrant, globally-inspired celebration for employees of prestigious global law firm, Baker McKenzie.
The event kicked off with a drinks and canapés reception, before guests were able to help themselves to live-cooked dishes at a series of different food stations, offering an immersive and interactive dining experience which kept the evening lively and sociable.
With the event held to celebrate the company’s positive strides in its Diversity, Ethics and Inclusion, the food stations were designed to echo the sentiment of diversity, featuring three different global cuisines: Indian, Caribbean and West African. Each station offered a selection of authentic dishes, freshly cooked on site by the talented Social Pantry team, with vegetarian and halal options included.
HOW We Made It Happen
Here’s how we brought Baker McKenzie’s Globally-Inspired Food Stations evening to life:
Setting up the Spaces: With a guestlist of 200, the event had to take place across both of Tower Bridge’s high-level Walkways to provide ample space for the distinct food stations, bars, and standing tables. The event was thoughtfully set up to encourage mingling, with several poseur tables strategically placed to create space for guests to gather to eat and drink. Bars were placed in both the West and East Walkways, ensuring easy access to drinks for all guests at all times.
Decor & Theme: The Walkway’s colour-changing LED lights were set to a warming golden hue for consistency across both Walkways, while inside our stylists created three themed areas using flowers, linens and styling around each food station to reflect and highlight each cuisine.
Food & Drink: For this event, the food really was the star of the show. As well as installing several fully-stocked bars and circulating a selection of globally-inspired seasonal canapés, the Social Pantry team set up three food stations, each focussing on a different cuisine: Indian, Caribbean and West African. The Indian station was the star of the show as we provided a chef on the station throughout the event, filling Pani Puri bites with Mint and Tamarind Water to order.
Entertainment: In-keeping with the globally-inspired theme of the evening, guests were welcomed into the Bridge by a chorus of steel drummers clad in hawaiian-style shirts. Then, later in the evening, the theatre continued as a group of Dhol drummers paraded through the Walkways in perfect synchronicity.
TheMenu
The evening kicked off at 6:45 shortly after guests arrived with a selection of creative, globally-inspired seasonal canapés including Sea Bream Tartare with Pickled Jalapeno; Jerk Chicken Nuggets with Lemon Aioli; and Crispy Rice topped with Trout Tartare, Apple, and Yuzu.
Then, once guests’ appetites were suitably awakened, we opened up the food stations at 8:30pm. Each station served a different cuisine, with a choice of Indian, Caribbean and West African.
The Live Pani Puri station was a standout, offering guests a fun and interactive experience as Social Pantry’s team of chefs freshly prepared these authentic mouthfuls live in front of each guest. The Indian station also offered a range of hot and cold small plates like Sweet Potato Tikki and Minced Lamb Samosas as well as heartier hot mains like Keralan Pepper and Coconut Beef Curry with Coconut Saffron rice.
The Caribbean and West African stations were set up similarly, with a selection of hot and cold starter-style dishes like Black Eyed Bean Fritters and Salt Fish Fishcakes, as well as hot mains including Jerk Chicken with Social Pantry Hot Sauce and Slow-Cooked Beef, Prawn and Okra Gumbo with Jollof Rice. The focus was on bold, vibrant flavours and multiple textures, keeping guests excited and engaged. The food was constantly replenished throughout the night and served by the Social Pantry team.
